Hello Pembrokshire - I've just returned from my holidays, and sitting in the odd traffic jam or two this little ditty came to me......... with apologies to Monty Python
Just remember that you’re living in a county that’s growing
with TRAINS that can run up to One Hundred Miles an hour
That’s two thousand inches a second, so it’s reckoned
Look at all those TRAINS with all their power
The TRAINS and you and me, and all the people we can see
are moving millions of miles each year
to take us into Carmarthen, Swansea and across the country we all call Wales…….
Yet, our county itself contains hundred thousand cars
They are ten thousand miles side by side
The jams bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand yards thick
but at St Davids and Angle, it’s just three hundred metres wide
We’re thirty thousand car years from traffic jam hell.
Where the cars wheels will stop turning around
And yet the numbers of cars in their tens and thousands
Will grow in this amazing universe
Our boundaries themself keep on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions we can whizz
As fast as we can go, that’s at the speed of light you know;
By car, at over a mile a minute, that’s the fastest speed there is.
So remember when you’re in your car sitting in the jam
frustrated, amazed that we could let it get this far
Just pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space
Cause’s there appears to be none at all down here in Wales!!!!!!
DON’T FORGET THE TRAIN
