COME along to Theatr Gwaun on Thursday, September 4 to re-live Fishguard and Goodwick RFC’S historic trip to the Millennium Stadium.

The community theatre will be showing the premiere of a film which documents the club’s progression through to the Swalec Bowl final in the 2012/2013 season.

The film captures the build-up, the travel, interviews and the highlights of the match played at the Millennium Stadium on May 4, 2013.

Fourteen hundred locals made the trip to the capital to witness the Seagulls become the first Pembrokeshire team to compete in the final of the Swalec Bowl.

Despite a valiant effort, the boys went down 27-17 to a very strong Wattstown side.

Fishguard and Goodwick had made a terrific start to game and were deservedly ten points ahead with three minutes of the first half remaining – but in 10 minutes of mayhem either side of the whistle they conceded points and their hopes were dashed.

The club later became just the second recipient to be awarded the Freedom of Fishguard and Goodwick by the town council and currently plays in Division 3 West B.

The film starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children.
