A Hakin man, who has pleaded not guilty to a series of charges involving counterfeit trademarks, is due to face trial this afternoon (Monday).
Damian John Hill, of Observatory Avenue, denied applying a sign identical to or likely to be mistaken for a registered trade mark to several DVDs. The charges state that this was without the consent of the proprietor and with a view to cause loss to another or gain for Hill.
The signs were all production studio logos, including those of Walt Disney, Tristar, Columbia, Universal, Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate.
At a case hearing last July Jeff Harries, prosecuting on behalf of Pembrokeshire County Council, said that 440 DVDs had been seized during a raid on Hill’s home. The charges applied to 11 of these DVDs.
Hill, 36, had already entered a not guilty plea at an earlier hearing. The case is listed for a half day trial this afternoon.
