STAFF and pupils at Ysgol Glannau Gwaun in Fishguard have enjoyed a busy few weeks.

As part of Shwmae Day, the children visited Cresswells Café, where they encouraged everyone to communicate through the medium of Welsh.

Children from years five and six were given a warm welcome at Transition Café, where Chris Samra and the team demonstrated how they are using food that would otherwise be thrown out to create delicious, healthy meals.

Pupils from year six were taken on a seal trail, accompanied by National Park warden Ian Meopham. Together with their teachers, they walked around part of the coastal path and spotted a few seal pups below the cliffs.

The school orchestra gave their annual concert, delighting a large gathering of parents, family and friends. The pupils were accompanied by the their teachers, Mr Chris Gilett and Mrs Phillipa Roberts and performed a number of pieces to a very high standard.

The school’s annual harvest service was held at Hermon Chapel, led by the deputy headteacher, Mr Geraint Williams. Parents and friends of the school enjoyed the service and praised the pupils for their hard work.

And as part of the St Davids Diocesan link with Bukavo, the Bishop and his Envoy Roger visited the school.

Using the interactive white board, Roger discussed his fascinating life and work. The Rev. Dr Jenny Annis and David Annis were thanked for arranging the visit and for creating a school link with the Congo.
