Milford Haven councillor, Guy Woodham, will be hosting an informal meeting at the Pill Social Centre, at 6.30pm this evening (Thursday) to get the ball rolling for this year’s Christmas Together event.

This seasonal project, which provides company for those who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day, was the idea of Cllr Woodham during his time as mayor. He hopes to make this year even bigger and better.

"The last two years have both been great events but I’m sure there are ways in which we can make it even better this year and most importantly encourage even more people who would otherwise be on their own to attend,” said Cllr Woodham.

Last year more than 60 people attended and Cllr Woodham would like to see this figure rise to at least 100 this year.

"This year I want to meet with those who have volunteered previously and those who may wish to volunteer at Christmas Together for the first time this year,” he said.

"This will give those who have not done so before the opportunity to hear from those who have previously participated and will also allow me and the Christmas Together Committee and opportunity to discuss any ideas the volunteers may have about the day itself and also how we may best go about attracting more people to attend."

If you would like to attend the meeting or find out more about Christmas Together, please get in touch with Cllr Woodham by emailing christmastogether@hotmail.co.uk or by telephoning 07411 287533.
