UPDATED: Unfortunately the Chihuahua had to be put to sleep due to its ill health the RSPCA has said.

THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a very poorly little dog was found in Pembroke on Friday.

A Chihuahua was found by a member of the public on the side of the road at Golden Hill, Pembroke, who took him to a nearby veterinary surgery.

RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben said: “The dog is now in our care but we are appealing for information to try and track down the owner.

“This dog may have wandered off but also could have been abandoned.

“Sadly he is in a very poor condition and only weighs just over a kilogram.”
