A three year-old girl is in hospital after being attacked and injured by a family dog in Neyland this afternoon (Thursday).
A Police spokesman said: "At 2.45pm on Thursday, April 23, Dyfed Powys Police officers were called to an address in Neyland to an incident whereby a family dog had attacked a three-year-old girl.
"She sustained head injuries and was conveyed to Morriston Hospital by Air Ambulance.
"Her condition is not life threatening.
"Following the police response to the incident, the dog was safely contained and taken to a local vet.
"In accordance with the wishes of the family the dog was destroyed."
