EXCITEMENT is growing as the countdown to the first ever Haverfoodfest continues.

Taking place in the grounds of County Hall and the Picton Centre from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, May 9, 48 stalls featuring an amazing array of edibles will be on offer to tantalise your taste buds.

Celebrity chef Angela Gray is launching the festival and will be doing live culinary demonstrations throughout the day in the Picton Centre, as will a number of talented local chefs.

In another marquee, nutritional experts will showcase healthy snacks and drinks ideas.

Live music, ranging from Ragsy, Lucy Jones and Kyle Kirkhouse to Raul Speek and a ukulele band will enhance the festival atmosphere, as will the licensed bar!

The Man v Food competition, featuring the biggest bumper burger ever built, promises to be an awesome spectacle.

“We’re really, really pleased with how it’s all coming together,” said Sally Williams of Just Nice, one of seven enterprising Haverfordwest business owners who joined together to organise and launch the event.

“The town has been really supportive and we’ve had some very generous sponsorship, without which we couldn’t be making Haverfooodfest happen. We really want this to become an annual event, and put Haverfordwest on the map. It’s our county town. All we need now is good weather, and we’ll be happy!”
