St Clears YFC’s annual agricultural show - the largest Spring event of its kind in west Wales - takes place at the United Counties showground, Carmarthen tomorrow, Saturday, May 23.

A facelift for this year’s show sees an improved layout. This will offer better ring facilities for the horse exhibitors, including a large collecting ring. There will also be enhanced parking and exhibiting for sheep and dog show exhibitors, and hard-standing parking for the public.

“We have built on previous years’ shows to create one of the most popular events in the region,” said show secretary, Alison Ebsworth. “St Clears Show is very much at the heart of the farming and equestrian calendar here in west Wales, and is proud of its close links with the local community.”

Added chairman Jonathan Williams: “We have a record entry of trade stands this year, too, and it’s great to see traditional agricultural show stands with farming machinery and local food producers.”

The show, open between 8.30am and 5.30pm, will feature cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, crafts and horticulture classes, as well as a vintage tractor display and the local Inter Hunt relay.
