An innovative dance festival stormed the stages at Milford’s Torch Theatre last Saturday as Arts Care Gofal Celf’s D15 event took over the building.

The sixth annual festival ran from 10am until 9pm and featured performances by professional and amateur dancers in a smorgasbord of styles from free running to fusion, put on by groups, troops, classes and companies from west Wales and beyond.

The festival also offered a myriad of multi-disciplinary workshops by independent artists, dancers, group leaders and teachers including teacher and practitioner training workshops.

As well as dance there were also sessions on DJing, drumming and Yoga. During the day a permanent graffiti artwork was created on the roof of the theatre.

“I am so proud of everyone who danced at D Festival,” said ACGC dance development manager Laura Jane Jenkins.

“So much hard work and dedication has gone in by so many people to make it such a fantastic experience for all.”

Any money generated by the festival will go to Arts Care Gofal Gelf, a registered charity which provides professionally delivered community arts classes, workshops and projects for disadvantaged groups across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
