A £100 reward is being offered for information leading to a prosecution after Pennar Community Hall was vandalised last week.

The hall was damaged between 9pm last Tuesday, July 28, and 2pm on Wednesday, July 29.

It is estimated some £250 worth of damage was caused when two double-glazed windows were smashed at the hall.

Shock at the damage was quickly shared on social networking website Facebook.

Community group Friends Of Pennar posted: “This is devastating news. Pennar Community Hall is huge supporters of Friends Of Pennar. Please if anyone knows anything please get in touch with them.”

Linda Goodrick posted: “This is so sad that there are people out there that are so heartless.”

Pennar Community Hall Chairman Councillor Tony Wilcox said the damage had now left the hall vulnerable.

“We’re afraid they’ll come back and do the rest of them; the only chance we’ve got of finding them is if someone shops them.”

He praised the support locally, adding: “We’ve probably got the money, the hall is doing fairly well, we’ve got enough to secure this and then hopefully put a grill on these back windows, but everything we make goes into the hall; it will detract from something else.

“Cameras or something like that would all cost money.”

It is hoped supermarket Tesco may be able to help the hall, which Cllr Wilcox described as a potential “silver lining”.

The hall is planning a fundraising event on September 5.

“We’ll have a few stall and a bouncy castle for the kids, that will help us a bit,” said Cllr Wilcox.

He finished: “Anyone with any information can contact me anonymously, or ring the police station.”

Anyone has any information please contact Tony Wilcox on 01646 621942, or call Pembroke Dock police station on the 101 non-emergency number.
