A SEAL pup's cries sparked a lifeboat launch at the weekend.
On Sunday October 4 at 11.17am following a report from a member of the public, both St Davids RNLI all-weather and inshore lifeboats, were launched to investigate what were thought to be cries for help from the base of the cliffs to the north of Porthgain harbour.
Also tasked were local coastguard teams.
Both lifeboats sped to the area and commenced a shore line search.
The inshore lifeboat soon discovered a seal pup making crying noises, and it was quickly established that it was these cries that the concerned member of the public had heard.
All units were stood down to return to their stations.
