LOCAL Assembly Member Paul Davies has invited the Minister for Natural Resources, Carl Sargeant, to visit residents in Lower Town, Fishguard to hear first-hand about the effects of flooding on the local community.
During a recent National Assembly debate, Mr Davies explained the seriousness of the situation and extended an invitation to the Minister to visit the local area for himself
Mr Davies said: “Flooding in Lower Town, Fishguard has been a significant problem for some time now, and whilst there has been a constructive dialogue with local people, councillors and Natural Resources Wales, I felt it was time for the Minister to see the situation for himself.”
He added: “Historically, we’ve seen surface water knee-deep in some cases and even trapping cars and other vehicles, so it’s important that stakeholders come together to help find a solution that makes Lower Town much more resilient in the future. I look forward to receiving the Minister’s response, which I hope will be positive, in due course.”
