PEMBROKESHIRE schoolchildren have helped launch a Welsh charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign.

The youngsters from Tenby’s Greenhill School were invited along to the Senedd to join Assembly Members in getting the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal underway.

The event gave the charity the stage to talk about its work with carers across Wales, and the Greenhill pupils highlighted the issues faced by young carers by playing the English and Welsh language versions of the ‘I Care…Do You?’ board game.

The Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal, now in its 30th year, encourages people to give a donation and wear a Marie Curie daffodil pin - available from volunteers across the country, Superdrug Stores, WH Smith shops, Wyevale garden centres and many other locations throughout February and March.

Jane Hutt AM, minister for finance and leader of the House said: “It is fantastic to see so many of my Assembly colleagues ‘getting behind the daffodil’. I hope the people of Wales will follow suit by making a donation and wearing their Marie Curie daffodil with pride.”
