The Pint Sized Plays Script Slam returns to Fishguard's Theatr Gwaun this Saturday, October 1.

The international writing competition now in its ninth year, has attracted a record number of entries this year, with 350 scripts submitted from all over the world.

A panel of expert judges has whittled down the entries to ten; the six winning plays and four runners up will all be performed at Theatr Gwaun, with the audience voting for their favourite play .

For those who can't make it to Fishguard, there is an additional performance in Haverfordwest tomorrow (Thursday September 29) at 8.00 pm in The Mariners Hotel, Mariners Square.

In Saturday's script slam all the winners and runners up will compete for the Pint-sized Pint-Pot trophy.

All the winners and runners up are on equal terms, and the overall winner of the best script award is decided by the audience.

The Script Slam is always good fun and often full of surprises; on more than one occasion, a runner-up has walked away with the top prize.

Prizes are also awarded for Best Performance by Peter Richards, artistic director of Fluellen Theatre Company.

This year it is expected that at least six of the writers will attend too – including one from New York – so it is hoped that the overall winner and runner-up will be in the audience to collect their trophies.

The Pint-sized Plays 2016 Script Slam starts at 7.30pm. For more information and to book tickets go to pintsizedplays.org.uk.
