Tuesday July 14th we walked from Freshwater East to Skrinkle, with our good supporters – Dilys and David, Mo, Audrey, Gloria and Daphne’s sons dog Merlin who is on his holidays with her. It was only a short stretch but a lot of ups and downs, again a lot of overgrown paths to make the going harder, and also some very heavy showers. But still very pleasant, we always have a laugh together. Merlin thoroughly enjoyed himself. A lot of beautiful beaches along this stretch, but most are very difficult to access. Passing through Manorbier our ‘Highwayman’ Graham collected a lot from visitors on the beach. By the Youth Hostel at Skrinkle is where we finished the day walk. Sunday 19th July Daphne, myself and Graham were joined by Dilys and David, Mo, Audrey, Gloria and Merlin also Liz and her dog George. We were also joined by a friends of mine from Saundersfoot – Bernice and Jennifer, to walk the next stretch from Skrinkle to Tenby. Bernice is a reflexologist - she gave us a cheque for £251 our ‘Raise the Roof’ appeal which she had collected from her clients.

We at WI House are very grateful to Bernice.

Also at the car park in Tenby, a very nice man by the name of Mohamed, who with his young family was on holiday in the area, gave £20 to our collecting box.

Unfortunatly the red flag was flying so we were denied access across Penally camp and Giltar Point so continued on the path towards Penally and on to South Beach Once again we got caught with a few very heavy showers at the start, but it did clear up later on and it was a lovely walk across the beach at Tenby with quite a few visitors giving generously.

Our next walk (the last one) is on Saturday July 25th from Tenby to Amroth, both Daphne and myself are feeling sad about that, it has been really great- the camaraderie, of the walking group the generosity of people we meet on the way, and of course the wonderful scenery of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
