15/08/09 - The Final Day - Brecon to Haverfordwest 78.7 miles. The end was in sight and everyone was looking forward to getting home. Just 16 miles from the finish they hit a patch of oily road causing a two bike pile up and narrowly avoiding busy traffic. Luckily there wasn't a serious injury, just a few scrapes and bruises. However, it does highlight the risk these soldiers were prepared to take for a worthwhile cause. On arrival at Morrison's Haverfordwest the team were met with a warm reception from the Commanding Officer, Lord Mayor, Sherriff, and the local media. The Morrison's staff also put on a superb spread of food and drinks to welcome them home. The generous donations from the town that came in during the day were the biggest yet and raised a record amount for the event. Well done guys, you have done yourselves, the town, Regiment and British Army very proud.
