Haverfordwest born Scarlets loosehead prop Rob Evans joins the Telegraph Sport team and will bring you an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at Parc y Scarlets every week.

Alright?! So here we are. My first column! I’m delighted and very excited to join the team and am really grateful for the opportunity to share some of my thoughts with you every week.

Hopefully you’ll find it interesting and won’t fall asleep whilst eating your morning porridge!

It’s been a big couple of weeks for us at the Parc, we’ve had a couple of game-free weekends whilst the younger guys have taken to the field in the LV= Cup and we’re feeling fresh and ready to go.

Training has been full-on this week but we’re feeling energised and ready for Friday night’s encounter.

This week we welcome Glasgow to the Parc and we are expecting a tough challenge as they’re nestled at the top of the table in the Guinness PRO12. Our last encounter in the PRO12 brought us a W and it’s vital that we put in solid performances, and secure results, in the next couple of rounds before we break into the next block of European Rugby Champions Cup.

We take on Ulster in the back-to-back European fixtures and the fourth round will be a massive clash at the Parc on Sunday 14th December, and it’ll also be Pembrokeshire Day!

It would be great to see my Pembrokeshire massive at the Parc that afternoon, it really does make a difference for us guys on the pitch to hear a huge vocal crowd behind us in the stand.

I’m also told that Llangwm, Narberth, Fishguard and my old club Haverfordwest are already booked in and joining us for Pembrokeshire Day – get your names in early so you don’t miss out and help us make it a big Pembs takeover!
