Neyland 3

Angle 0

NEYLAND’S good form continued with an excellent victory at home against Angle.

The visitors can count themselves unlucky not to open the scoring, as a Tom Grimwood hit the post with a header and Chris Richards’ low drive was palmed away by Nomads keeper Patrick Hannon.

However, the Nomads went into half time two goals ahead.

Some neat built-up led to Gary Power lashing a right foot shot from 12 yards crashing into the back of the net in the 25th minute.

Three minutes later and the hosts doubled the lead; Mike Chandler’s free-kick in the box fell to Henry Durrant who made no mistake from inside the box.

Chris Lloyd’s team to their credit didn’t throw in the towel, but they did concede a further goal in the 75th minute. Wayne Parry flicked in a header past the despairing clutches of Angle goalkeeper Luke Lawrence.

This Saturday, Neyland are home against close neighbours Johnston and Angle have home advantage against Goodwick United.
