NICKY Woodrow scored a brilliant hat-trick against his former Johnston team-mates that earned Hakin United a comfortable victory at the Obs.
With other results going Hakin’s way, this result sees the Vikings stretch their lead at the top of the table by eight points.
Gary Dawes’ team only have ten games of the season to play, and they are definitely in the driving seat to retain the division one title for a third year in a row.
Woodrow opened the scoring in the 44th minute that the visitors claimed the striker was well offside as the Vikings held a slender one-goal cushion at half time.
The Tigers had striker Adam Hawkins sent-off for a second bookable offence. The Vikings took advantage to score three further goals without reply in the last ten minutes. Justin Harding doubled the lead in the 80th minute as co-striker Woodrow assisted; Ashley Bevan set-up Woodrow for the third in the 85th minute.
Then bang on full time Woodrow completed his hat-trick with a low right footed drive from 20 yards out, which was incredibly was The Vikings’ 99th league goal of the season.
