Last Thursday, the ladies played an away match against Newport, unfortunately the ladies lost the overall match but enjoyed the beautiful course and came away not too disappointed as it still leaves them midway in the top league table. This Sunday sees them travel to Derilys Court for their next match fixture.

Last Saturday, the first round of the Ladies’ Club Championship took place. The weather was dry and the conditions were perfect for what was a very close competition indeed. Taking the lead after the first round was Barbara Phillips with a gross 89, closely followed by Ruth Morgan with a gross 90. The final day was a nail biting wait for the finish and many of the ladies watched the last players coming up the 18th hole. Having come so close in previous years it was a joy to see Cheryl Eva crowned this year's Lady Club Champion. Cheryl played a better final round coming home with a gross 87 and beating runner up Barbara Phillips who came in with a gross 94 on the second day. Cheryl was delighted with her win and was presented with the trophy and a bouquet of flowers from the Lady Captain Karen Lewis.
