Three women from Pembrokeshire have been selected for the Wales National football team that was announced this week.
Goalkeeper Jo Price, who is currently not attached with a club, and lives in St Davids, midfielder Angharad James (Bristol WFC), from Llandissilio, and striker Nadia Lawrence are thrilled to be included.
A fourth member of the squad Hayley Ladd (Bristol WFC), has connections with Haverfordwest, her dad Martin was raised in the county town, and Hayley’s late grandad Mr. Wally Ladd, was a teacher at Haverfordwest Grammar School and he retired at Sir Thomas Picton School.
The Wales Women's National Team play Kazakhstan in a UEFA Women's EURO qualifier on Thursday, 26 November at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium in Haverfordwest and manager Jayne Ludlow has released her squad for the match.
Wales go into the match on the back of two away defeats Austria (3-0) and Norway (4-0) but will be looking for their first win against Kazakhstan, who are also yet to win but earned a point in Israel following a 0-0 draw.
Austria currently top Group 8 with 9 points from three games and Norway are second with 6 points from two games.
