THE draw has been confirmed for this season’s Joe Lennon Memorial Cup.

The annual tournament is now in its sixth year - and is held in memory of Joe, who died in December 2010, aged 60. He was renowned for his excellent work with the Hakin United junior section and credited for much of the club’s success when they won seven straight league titles between 1996 and 2003.

This year’s tournament will again consist of Hakin United, Milford United, Milford Athletic, and Hubberston, and has been organised by Vikings secretary Johnny Lewis and former manager Gary Dawes.

Following the competition draw last Thursday, it has been confirmed that Hakin United will play Milford Athletic in the first semi final on Wednesday, July 27 - with Steve Badham the referee.

The second semi final will see Milford United face Hubberston on Friday, July 29. Ben Williams will take charge.

The final will then be held on Friday, August 5.

All games will be held at The Observatory Field and will kick off at 6pm.

Lewis said he wanted to thank both Badham and Williams for coming forward voluntarily to officiate, and also praised Stuart MacDonald and Phil Marchant, who have stepped down from organising the tournament this year after being instrumental in getting it up and running the past five seasons.

The Vikings will be aiming for a fifth straight tournament win.
